Conventional pin Working mechanism Compared to wafer technology, conventional pin technology may offer more possible combi-nations, allowing for bigger projects like Master or Grand Master Key system. This is caused by the mechanism of locked and open position, as well as the technicality: this system contains between 3 to 8 hard bronze core pins, arranged axially. A series of pins and springs work together to allow the lock to either lock or unlock. In the locked position, the upper pins are forced down, closing the dividing line between the core and body. On inserting the correct key, it compresses the springs, pushing allthe pins level with the dividing lines. You can now open the lock.
